COVID-19 Update (July 14, 2021)

As of June 30, 2021, the Oregon State authorities has lifted all remaining COVID-19 restrictions issued under emergency statutes. This means that our liturgical life in the parish has returned to most of our normal practices.

We typically have two Liturgies every week: one weekday Liturgy at 8.00 am, and the normal Sunday Liturgy at 9.00 am.  This may vary depending on special feasts and celebrations. We also have a daily Vespers (usually on Wednesday) and Great Vespers (Saturday) at 6.00 pm. See the calendar for service time.

Despite the lifting of restrictions, please observe the following:

• If you feel sick, have a fever, cough or shortness of breath – stay home or return home.
• Be aware that not everyone feels the same way about the pandemic, risk of contagion and the lifting of precautions. Be courteous, respectful and loving toward those around you with different opinions.
• High risk or vulnerable parishioners, who are anxious about crowded worship spaces, are encouraged to attend weekday liturgies (with lower attendance), or contact the priest to hear their Confession and bring them Communion at home.
• The Health Authorities (CDC, OHA) still recommend unvaccinated individuals to wear masks in closed and crowded spaces. However, we will neither ask for your vaccination records, nor enforce this – but leave it up to each one’s discretion.

Communion in the Liturgy will take place in the normal fashion.

If you are Orthodox and plan to receive Communion, prepare as you should: with prayer, fasting and recent Confession. (If you are an Orthodox visitor, please contact Fr. Andreas before coming up for Holy Communion.)

You are also welcome to stay after Liturgy on Sundays for our potluck fellowship meal. We ask again that you respect other peoples’ boundaries, and treat each other with love, patience and understanding during this time of transition back to a more normal community life.
